As soon as I’ve found lots of images at the beginning of a project, I draw draw draw! Initially, my sketchbooks are full of photos and drawings so that I have plenty of images to reference. Here is a selection of some of my drawings from the beginning of a nature project. I keep them very simple to begin with.

Layered Lovelyness
I was looking through some of my previous projects and found some gorgeous layered pictures I’ve created. They’re inspired by the coast, India and mark-making. I’ve put them together using photos, magazines, newspapers, paint, acetate, tissue paper, charcoal, anything that worked, really! Which is your favourite?

Pick ‘n’ Mix Frames
I love photos and anything else that can be framed, I’m such a hoarder! I have a lovely leather suitcase that belonged to my granny; It’s filled with postcards, birthday cards, menus, invitations…. the list goes on! Anything that I couldn’t bear to bin when so much thought has gone into the design or message. I also have a never ending collection of frames to display these memories in. I love walls covered in frames. There seems to be no need to hide treasured images when there’s so much room to display them. Frames were my inspiration for one of my wallpaper collections. I’ve used one of my designs for my blog background but there were quite a few in the collection. I’ve like to share a few with you. Which is your favourite?
