I grew up on my family’s farm, near Alnwick in Northumberland, where I stayed during my Art Foundation year at Newcastle College. I then moved to York to study Surface Design.
After travelling around the world, making jewellery in Newcastle and working for interior design magazines in London, I moved back home to the North East. I currently work full-time at a game development company in Gateshead, managing their charity partnerships.
The Northumbrian coastline is my main inspiration, along with my travels through Europe, India, South-East Asia, Australia and South America.
I used to paint a lot in acrylic, but I’ve more recently moved into using watercolour, as it’s much better for the planet. I enjoy painting and drawing a range of subjects, including beaches, buildings, patterns and people.
Hi Polly, are any of your paintings available to view online?
Hi!
They are, most of them are here: https://pollyord.com/paintings/
Instagram’s a lot more up to date: https://www.instagram.com/pollyord/
Or there’s a few still for sale on here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/pollyordpainting/?etsrc=sdt
Just a thought Polly but in the case of the pubs you’ve painted have you tried contacting them to see if they would be interested in a purchase of their particular venue?
I’ve tagged them all in them on social media, and most have reacted, but I haven’t personally been in touch with them 🙂
