Queen’s Jubilee

I hope you all enjoyed the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations as much as I did. I love how it made London such a friendly place and everyone joined in. Red, white and blue everywhere! Unfortunately I didn’t have a ticket to the concert but I was on The Mall the next morning, ready to see the procession of the carriages! I was there so early, The Queen passed me in her car as she left for the service. I waited for the carriages to come past along with all of the horses, musicians and military. I obviously took a few photos! My favourite is the policemen at the end.

There she is! I wasn’t even looking through my camera at this point. Too exciting!

Barter Books

One of the things I really miss about the north is the most amazing secondhand bookshop! I worked at Barter Books for 7 years and if you’re ever in Northumberland, it really is a must see. It’s situated in the old railway station and the interior is stunning. Mary and Stuart are the couple who own it and Mary really has a great eye for style. So much thought has gone into every last detail and I loved to be involved when Mary was choosing a new paint colour or deciding what a room needed when it was missing something. The shop is also home to the original Keep Calm and Carry On poster; It originally came into the bookshop in a box of books from auction. I only have a couple of photos of the shop in London and here is also a copy of a drawing of the bookshop that I drew for my manager’s wedding present.

Devon Wedding Flowers

We had our first family wedding this summer and I loved every minute of the weekend! Everyone was so involved in all of the preparation so we were kept busy. My cousin arranged all of the flowers and they were one of the big talking points of the wedding. You can see why! The venues already had some beautiful displays too.
