Pattern at the Palace

This weekend I was lucky enough to stay in Hampton Court Palace, which was incredible! We were able to have a walk around the gardens when it was closed to the public and appreciate it without the scenery dotted with people. There are some gorgeous shapes and colours around the grounds. In the morning we all had a wander around the kitchens and the main rooms of the palace. I loved the shapes in the kitchens, especially the worn pots and jugs!

Alnmouth Arts Festival

Well I’ve just got back to rainy grey London after an amazing weekend in beautiful sunny Northumberland! It was the Alnmouth Arts Festival this weekend and it was such a good weekend! I had a lovely spot in the ferryman’s hut, by the sea. It was a bit off the route though so I’m not so sure it would have been as good if it had been raining! The ferryhut was used, up until the 60’s, as a base for the ferryman who would row people across the estuary, to the south beach. It was the perfect place to display by beachy paintings. I was there all weekend talking to my visitors. My brother stood in for half an hour to let me run up to the Hindmarsh Hall to see Francesca Simpson, Kath Woollen and Adele Agar. I’m annoyed I didn’t get to see any others but there wasn’t time!

Durham Doorways

While I was up at home, my brother and I took our Dad to Durham for the day. I was snapping away as much as I could but they wouldn’t have had much patience for me if I kept making them stop! So please excuse the flash reflections 🙂 There’s some beautiful doorways in Durham; a mixture of painted and wooden. Gorgeous colours and archways everywhere!
