I’ve always loved the colour, pattern and typography involved in graffiti. The colours are so vibrant. I’ve spotted some around Brockley and Notting Hill recently, that particularly attracted me.
Well I’ve just got back to rainy grey London after an amazing weekend in beautiful sunny Northumberland! It was the Alnmouth Arts Festival this weekend and it was such a good weekend! I had a lovely spot in the ferryman’s hut, by the sea. It was a bit off the route though so I’m not so sure it would have been as good if it had been raining! The ferryhut was used, up until the 60’s, as a base for the ferryman who would row people across the estuary, to the south beach. It was the perfect place to display by beachy paintings. I was there all weekend talking to my visitors. My brother stood in for half an hour to let me run up to the Hindmarsh Hall to see Francesca Simpson, Kath Woollen and Adele Agar. I’m annoyed I didn’t get to see any others but there wasn’t time!
